MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR

We are assisting our client in the search for a Mechanical Supervisor to join his team. You will be responsible for monitoring ongoing construction activities and ensuring project aligns with the schedule.
Key responsibilities include:

• The effective communication, co-ordination and control of all / or according to the assignment mechanical Contractors on site
• Compliance to all Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) standards and rules applicable to the site
•  The regular and on-going inspection and recording of on-site sub-contract workTo ensure full compliance with the drawings and Quality of installation complies with all applicable project specifications. Study drawings and identify queries pro-actively, receive queries from contractors, direct all field queries to appropriate parties promptly and follow up resolution of queries regularly to ensure minimum delays to construction work
• Clarification of all technical issues with respective engineer from the design office
• Report all non-conformances
•  To ensure that contractors handle and transport all on-site materials and Equipments with due care and attention. Checking of arriving material and corresponding packing lists
• Witness and record all tests and commissioning procedures for work allocated to Construction Site Manager’s care
• In conjunction with the contractors, assist with the accurate assessment of contractor’s progress claims, for submission to the Project Manager. Installation work is executed in accordance with the agreed version of the project Schedule
• Ensure that all construction Equipment brought onto site by the contractors under your supervision is in good working order and complies with the site safety requirements
• Ensure that all contractors working under your care and supervision are in possession of the correct drawing revisions
• Agree Method Statements and erection methods and practices proposed by the Contractors (written) in conjunction with EHS Officer, and record appropriately
• Ensure the work areas under our care are kept clean and hygienic and that the site and local environment is not polluted
• Provide commissioning assistance as directed by the Site Manager
• Organize the Site as per the introduction provided in the Site Management Handbook and the Environment, Health and Safety Guidelines

 Direct Reporting:

• The Construction Site Supervisor reports direct to the Construction Site Manager

Indirect Reporting:
The Construction Site Supervisor reports all project related issues, including commercial issues to:

• The Project Manager (in case SV works under direction of other PPU)

Site related Reporting:
The Construction Site Supervisor receives his reports from:

• All Contractors on Site
• All third-Party Contractors on Site (for example. external welding test inspector, surveyor…)

REPORTING
The Site Supervisor reports to the Site Manager immediately:

• Every accident
• Variations to contract
• Harmful and violating circumstances
• Danger to employees and equipment
• Environmental problems such as hurricane warnings, bush fire, earth quake, etc..

Daily reporting for the project file:

• Safety Toolbox Meetings, in case of absence of the Safety Manager
• Site evidence of manpower & equipment, check correctness of Contractors information
• Near Miss Accidents
• Daily reports from contractors, with personal comments on correctness
• Site Coordination Meetings with the contractors, during absence of the Site Manager
• Non- conformances
• Incoming material confirmation

Weekly reporting to the Site Manager:

• Erection Time Schedule Review
• Weekly Report, including summary of Safety reports,
• Summary of non-conformances and internal issues for clarification
• Overview of incoming material/ tons & collis
• Summary of Client issues as well as contractor issues

Monthly to the Project Manager:

• Not applicable

Meeting relationships:

• Delegate the execution of the daily toolbox meetings, during absence of Site and Safety Manager
• Ensure safety meetings after a near miss or accident, during absence of Site and Safety Manager
• Daily meetings intern with the employees, during absence of Site Manager
• Daily meetings with the erection company, during absence of Site Manager
• Daily /or weekly meetings with the client, during absence of Site Manager
• Issue Site Instructions, Variation Orders and Directives to contractors as directed by the Site Manager.
• Erection Time Schedule Review Meetings with the Erection Company
• Witness and coordinate inspections and their reporting
• Forward instructions provided by the Project Manager, during absence of Site Manager.
